Summary:
Using intermediate planning skills and technical knowledge, performs semi-complex, relatively varied tasks to provide technical support on PCs - including troubleshooting, maintenance, and installations.
Ensures that individual users and departments have hardware, software, and operating systems necessary to perform the work of the school district.
Responsibilities include a variety of tasks of semi-complexity involved with the installation, maintenance, trouble-shooting, and configuration of computer networks, including cabling, switches, wireless access points, and other network electronics, desktop and laptop computers, and other network peripherals.
Has a sufficiency of skills and knowledge to perform moderately complex functions to assist in managing a multi-user data systems.
Responsible for participating in a team environment.
In a clearly defined environment, searches for problem resolution within an area of learned things.
Position would work under moderate supervision.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty described above satisfactorily.
EDUCATION AND/OR
Experience:
Two-year college degree with a major in computer/information science.
Two years' experience in PC repair and Network installation and maintenance, preferred.
An appropriate mix of degree and experience will be taken into consideration.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Possession of a valid State issued driver's license and availability of a vehicle capable of occasionally transporting data communications equipment, computers, and similar equipment (mileage expense allowance provided).
A
certification, preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and manual dexterity to work on computers and peripherals in an office, classroom or lab environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor and outdoor work environment.
Essential Functions:
Performs in-depth diagnostic and maintenance actions of PC systems.
Installs new systems or upgrades current systems, software or components.
Provides in-depth on-site technical support of existing networked desktop-related problems.
Responds to customer questions on site while on assignment.
Provides basic training to users.
Initiates and provides follow-up to call procedures to external maintenance support for those problems beyond normal capabilities.
With assistance from a more experienced engineer, can differentiate complex application problems from network problems.
With assistance from a more experienced engineer, may perform diagnostic procedures for network systems, both virtual and hardware.
Uses knowledge of switching, network addressing, copper and fiber optic cabling practices well enough to assist in hardware installation and network configuration.
Repairing staff laptops including maintaining a repair log.
Assist in repairing student mobile devices (Chromebooks and laptops) including maintaining a repair log.
Closes out all trouble tickets assigned and follows up to ensure user satisfaction.
Informs others of inventory needs.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Pay and Hours:
This position is a 12 month position with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials - Support Unit II Scale:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
