Overview and Goals of the Accounts Payable Accountant:
We are accepting applications for a detail oriented full-time onsite Accounts Payable Accountant reporting to the Controller in our Stevensville, MD facility.
The primary hours of this exempt position are 8-4:
30, M-F.
This position maintains all accounts payable records, schedules and processes bi-weekly check runs, including online ACH and wire payments, and assists with balance sheet account reconciliations and financial reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Accountant include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Conducts all AP functions including the maintenance of vendors files.
Serves as the primary vendor accounting contact.
Monitors AP aging regularly (weekly), evaluating payment and funds requirements in concert with Controller.
Reconciles all material bills with corresponding shipment receivers in close cooperation with materials receiving team, purchasing and inventory manager.
Codes and processes all vendor bills into AX.
Investigates and analyzes purchase price and volume discrepancies from purchase orders.
Processes all monetary disbursements to vendors, reps, contractors, and to employees (includes checks, wire transfers, ACH transactions).
Monitors and reconciles A/P accruals (shipments received but not matched to bills).
Manages, reviews, and processes expense and credit card reports from eligible employees.
Maintains AP Expense Accrual list of vendor bills at month end that did not make it into the closing month's period.
Assists in the evaluation and analysis of variances with respect to foreign currencies, price, and volume deviation.
Manages/conducts monthly account Reconciliations against the GL.
Compiles and establishes a variety of special reports upon requests from, CFO, Controller, and other sources within PRS.
Assists with monthly expense fluctuation review.
The successful Accounts Payable Accountant candidate must have the following knowledge, skills and attributes:
Associate degree (A.
A.
) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or relevant experience Minimum 4
years of progressive Accounts Payable and general accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Strong Computer skills - Microsoft AX and intermediate Excel skills a plus Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities efficiently Outstanding organizational skills About Us:
